This work was inspired by a couple of exchange students at the high school where my husband taught.  Blanca was from Barcelona and loved to cook; Francesca was from Florence and loved to eat! We had some very happy evenings in our home with them. I am particularly fascinated by the way shadows are cast by light shining through glass, and decided to go a step further by casting them onto a brick wall.  I hope this painting looks as if someone is about to enjoy something delicious!!
