When I give advice about painting, (usually only
when asked), I always tell people to "paint what you know". I know
desserts. Reflecting them into silver bowls and platters intensifies their
appeal. I find the use of silver combined with lace to be irresistible!
The original painting is in the collection of Fifth Third Bank of Evansville,
Indiana. Other paintings capitalizing on food are
Kitchen Still Life,
Blanca and Francesca,
Summer Garden,
Mu
Shu,
Eye Candy,
Maria's Dinner Table
Spanish
Wine,
Food Pyramid and
What A Fruitcake! The antique lace
tablecloth was made by the mother of a dear friend. Lace forms an
important part of many of my paintings. Others that use lace, or lace and
silver together, are Cut Flowers,
Valentines,
Old Glass and Cookbooks,
Apples and Silver,
Dana's Flowers,
Roomie's Daughter Got Married: And Things Don't Always Turn Out The Way You
Thought, Myra Ann
and
Pure Indiana.
