I love bountiful, harvest-like arrangements. While antique shopping—a hobby that provides lots of still life material, I found two framed mirrors decorated with papier-mâché fruit. These contributed to the spirit of the painting, but I was a little afraid that I had gone overboard on this one, considering the flower-strewn fabric in the background and foreground. But in the end, though, I really liked the lush, over-ripe feeling of it all. Other paintings capitalizing on food are Kitchen Still Life, Blanca and Francesca, Silver With Fruit and Cakes, Mu Shu, Eye Candy, Maria's Dinner Table and What a Fruitcake! Other paintings featuring flowers are Cut Flowers, Dana’s Flowers, Vase of Roses With Dark Narrative Under Currants, and Mona Lisa Dances With Poppies.
